Zaya Launches to Build the Largest Network of In-Network Maternal Care Specialists
Zaya, a free platform connecting parents to high-quality maternal care, launches today to make it easy and convenient to find support for all stages of a maternity journey. Zaya’s network of vetted practitioners currently serves parents in the state of New York, with rapid expansion plans.
Zaya was created to establish comprehensive maternal healthcare as the new standard in the United States. At launch, specialists on the platform will include licensed acupuncturists, dietitians, lactation consultants, mental health therapists, and physical therapists, all of whom focus on treating birthing people. As the backend services organization for providers, Zaya removes the administrative burden that prevents many such specialists from taking insurance today.
“Today, specialists who provide wraparound care and support for the maternity journey are hard to find, typically cannot accept insurance, or are not big enough to support additional clients. With Zaya, we will make it simpler for both the practitioners and parents to find one another, and bring to life our vision of a holistic maternity journey,” says Leoni Runge, founder and CEO of Zaya. “By creating the link between parents and these practitioners, we are allowing for convenient access to specialized services, beyond OB-GYN care, and are incredibly proud of what we’ve built.”
Clients of Zaya can search the platform to find an in-network maternal health specialist and request appointments easily. Zaya meets parents where they are: practitioners offer home visits, video visits and office visits covered by major insurers in New York. Zaya plans to quadruple its network of specialist providers by the end of 2022, and expand to additional markets.
Zaya was founded in 2020 to provide care from preconception to postpartum, and has raised an undisclosed amount from institutional and private investors, including notable healthcare veterans such as Toyin Ajayi, Founder of Cityblock Health and Andrew Adams, Founder of Headway.
About Zaya:
Zaya’s mission is to help mothers afford full-spectrum maternity care beyond the routine OB-GYN visits. By enabling previously out-of-network specialists to take insurance at better terms, providers can grow their practice, while allowing a more diverse population of mothers to access their services. Inspired by the holistic European care model, Zaya’s network includes Lactation Consultants, Pelvic Floor Therapists, Mental Health Therapists, Acupuncturists, and Dietitians.
